10/19/11 - Blackboard Email and Server Restarts

Some users experienced issues emailing from Blackboard this afternoon. Email services were restored at around 3:15 pm. One of the Blackboard servers was unavailable at about 3:20 pm and all services restored by 3:50 pm. The system is experiencing heavy usage and we are actively monitoring the servers. Some users may have been kicked out and had to log back in.
