Since the upgrade to Blackboard Learn 9.1 SP6, we have discovered issues with some of the features in Blackboard and want to make you aware of these issues, their current status and possible workarounds. Please note: you may monitor the known issues in Blackboard on the Known Issues page located here: http://www.unf.edu/cirt/bb/support/Known_Issues.aspx and you may keep up with the latest Blackboard News on the UNF Bb News blog.
The issues are:
• Auto-submitted timed tests show as Needs Grading despite having all auto-graded question types - This is a known issue and a fix is expected in SP8. Note: Auto-submitted timed tests record scores for each question answered and instructors may click View Grade Details > View Attempt > Save and Exit to change the "!" to a score in My Grades and the Grade Center.
• Group Discussion Forums remain accessible to students even when date and time restrictions are applied under the Forum Availability settings - This is a known issue and a fix is expected in SP8. Note: Instructors may make Group Discussion Forums unavailable on the Edit Forum page by selecting No next to Availability. Students will still see the link to the unavailable forum, but will get an error message when they try to access it.
• Group Discussion Forums set to Unavailable by selecting No for Availability on the Edit Forum page are visible to students but produce an Access Denied error when clicked – This is a known issue and a fix is expected in SP7.
• Impatica Content Copied from Previous Courses does not work for students – This is a known issue and a fix is expected in SP8 (issue: Read Permissions for Course Files are not granted for all files utilized by Impatica). There is a workaround that may be used to fix the Permissions on the folder in Course Files containing the Impatica content; instructions: http://www.unf.edu/cirt/bb/FAQs/FAQs_-_Course_Materials.aspx#impatica_copy
• Students Receive Access Denied message in Blackboard Assessments when clicking Save and Submit at the same time the autosave feature is submitting question responses – This is a known issue and it will be resolved in a future release of Blackboard. Until a fix for the issue is in place, instructors should NOT select Force Completion on Blackboard Assessments so students who encounter the issue may access the assessment again in order to complete it. Likewise, students should allow the autosave function to complete before clicking Save and Submit. Students may view the status of the autosave function from the Question Completion Status Indicator: http://www.unf.edu/cirt/bb/support/Question_Status_Indicator.aspx
• Text entered into Learning Objects Blogs and Wikis disappears on Save when using Internet Explorer 9 - The issue is related to Internet Explorer 9 only and students may work around the issue in one of two ways: 1. Use another browser, such as Firefox or Chrome. 2. Put IE9 into document compatibility mode using these directions: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/why-do-some-webpages-look-incorrect-in-internet-explorer-9 .
