There is a known issue with the Assignment Feature, in particular when an instructor attempts to download student submissions from the Gradebook using the Item Download option. The issue occurs when an assignment has spaces in the name. We are reporting the issue to Blackboard. In the meantime, you may use the workaround outlined by the University of Tennessee Chattanooga to download the student files: http://utconline.utc.edu/documents/AssignmentFIX2.pdf or you may rename your assignments in the content areas of your course by removing all of the spaces in the assignment name to fix the problem.
This issue does not affect a student’s ability to add assignment files to Blackboard.
